Definition Compacted earth surface in room 31
Description Compact dark graysh brown soil that covers the majority of the west wing of room 31. It also exists in the SE part of the room (the portion adjacent to the previously excavated area at the SE end of the E wing). There is a strip of gravely surface (SR416) that runs parallel to the staircase that seems to be a different layer, although it is at more or less the same level as this layer
Observations There was a flat stone placed on the floor @ the corner of walls 398 and 217 that may be a place stone for a post that would have supported the roof/covering for SR416?
