• Definition Mixed modern fill in the Main street
• Description Mixed rubble fill consisting of 19th/20th century ceramic and tiles, barbed wire. Stones medium (20-40 cm) to small (less than 20 cm); composition of soil is fine gray and ashy. Concentration of 20th century glass and bone in the N part of the trench. Approximately 25cm below surface the size and frequency of medium size stones increases
• Observations Cut trench in order to expose a profile of the main road; made a 2nd and 3rd pass to about 25-30 cm deep because context remained same; the context extended into the area that Italo opened up because found to be the same gray context approximately 4.30 meters in length and approx. 25-30 cm in depth. Once the trench was cut a profile was cut on the opposite side (to the west); as profiles matched up the entirety of the main plateia was included as context 503. In the SE edge of the plateia the layer has a sloping down to the SE extending deeper. In other words, context 503 was deeper to the south edge of the plateia.
