- Layer of granulous soil. It is very organic. There are a lot of roots, animal bones, and pottery. The roots are either big or small. There are a lot of animal bones including fish. The soil contains a lot of oysters. The layer has not a regular level but descends towards the centre. Near to US 203 (patch of ash) there is a lot of charcoal. This layer is characterized by a lot of tiles and pottery and a few coins dating to the 13th century.
