Linked Contexts

  • Context: CH06SR_768
    • Layer of very compact soil that lay, initially, under a large paving stone. Once the paver was removed, the soil became much more loose, and a lighter shade of brown and produced lots of small - medium sized rocks, and very large broken pieces of pithoi. There were only small ceramics and bone otherwise.
  • Context: CH06SR_784
    • This very thin layer consisted of erroded, clay bedrock material just above the bedrock itself. There was very little debris in this area and only one obect of note. The soil was very compact and clay-like, with a yellowish color.
  • Context: CH06SR_785
    • Covering the entirety of cut 728, this layer of debris-rich soil was very thick - at least 3 meters. The layer yielded an extremely large amount of small finds, especially (also) iron nails and metal objects.
