Description

  • Courtyard, area 3, near cistern

Linked Contexts

  • Context: CH06SR_927
    • Large well formed pit with the dimensions [at definition] of 1.2 M (NE-SW) X 90 cm (NW-SE) and 40-50 (?) cm in depth. The pit is larger than these dimensions as it extends in to the profile; see the cut for more accurate dimensions. [this context number actually refers to the fill, rather than the pit. The fill appeared under the rocky soil 929; according to ATR ntbk, this was "a clean layer of compact, slightly darker soil"; it was partially excavated, with about 1/3 of its volume left in situ under the balk around the cistern -- ATR, 6/07]
  • Context: CH06SR_928
    • The shape of the cut is circular and the dimensions are approximately 1.2 M in diameter, although the cut extends into the profile therefore it is actually larger. The depth of the cut is approximately 50 cm and the walls are steep and the bottom is relatively flat.
