Description
- CH05SR0528
- Stone covering of Tomb 4
- Series of large, irregular, reasonably flat stones/slabs covering the fill of Tomb 4, expecially at the SE end of the tomb. May have been some traces of lime, as Larissa Sedikova describes above Tomb 3. Mortar found between stones. Soil was of a similar consistancy to context 509.
- Whole area seams to be largely disturbed by bomb, not helped by lack of excavation supervision.
Interpretation
-
- Possibly the covering is the result of the collapse of the church wall. It doesn't seem to be an intentional covering of the tomb since the stones were found in a vertical position. The tomb was possibly disturbed by a bomb.
