• Definition Fill of the cut in bedrock, N corner of room 30
• Description Dark grey/brown compact soil with a fragments of ceramics, tiles, bones; located in N corner of room, 70x50cm, depth 30-35 cm, filling bedrock cut in that area below the level of 678
• Observations The fill consists of two layers: the upper (7-10 cm) is a brown-grey with a lime crumb and stones. Compact. The lower is brown with a little of ceramic frag-s. The two layers were not distinguished during excavation, but one layer may represent fill associated with the period of use and the other, fill associated with abandonment; NB: very small quantity of ceramic evidence suggests 13th c. fill, but it is possible that the 2 frags. of 13th c. pottery (local amphora, Zeuxippos ware) are contamination from a foundation trench vel sim. that went unrecognized during excavation
