Description
- CH06SR0861
- Fill of pit between slabs and robbers trench 0837 in area 2 of courtyard
- At definition the dimensions are approximately 60 X 60 cm and 25 cm in depth. The fill was a dark grayish brown soil with very few artifacts (only ceramics and bone) present. The sides are steep and the bottom is uneven. There is a cut stone (looks like a [smaller] stone slab 0666) that extends over the top of the fill.
- Although I believe this was a pit, it is possible that it was a mold/place where a stone slab was removed. Artifacts collected are exclusively from this area/pit providing reliable dating material.
Interpretation
-
- A small pit used for an undetermined function, but see stratigraphic notes/doubts for alternative explanation.
