- Fragment of marble, one face polished. Consistent thickness 1,3 cm. some pitting to polished surface. No other features. White colouration with grey veins ( Proconnesian?).

- Layer of yellowish brown compact soil with inclusion of pebbles; covers almost all area of E wing of rm 31, ca 15-20cm thick, smooth surface (though this may be a product of cleaning last year). This layer contains pieces of ceramic (red slip ware and glazed pottery in same layer, so residual material); in the center, the layer is cut by three pits. Additions: 3 pits are from CH05 excavs - IC).
