- CH06SR0713
- Compact yellowish brown soil in east wing of room 31
- Layer of yellowish brown compact soil with inclusion of pebbles; covers almost all area of E wing of rm 31, ca 15-20cm thick, smooth surface (though this may be a product of cleaning last year). This layer contains pieces of ceramic (red slip ware and glazed pottery in same layer, so residual material); in the center, the layer is cut by three pits. Additions: 3 pits are from CH05 excavs - IC).

- Either use surface or a levelling fill laid down in preparation for the construction of the floor (ceramic material was very mixed, various dates and states of preservation). Additions: A piece of ceramic eroded by water was found (alnd also various types of ceramic - Roman and Medieval).
