  • Fragment of narrow strip, parallel rectilinear sides, constant thickness. One face decorated with incised (<0.05cm) sequence of double pointed arches separated by dart motifs, the whole set between incised parallel lines 0.05 cm from outer edges. Back scored. Colour black, dark brown.

    • Layer of compact, clayish soil. This was fairly well compacted and was not terribly well delineated in the area opposite Cut 601. The soil contained a lot of ceramic and bone, with just a few pieces of glass and metal. There was an abundance of sea stones and sea shells.
