- Roughly oblong fragment; Constant thickness 2 cm. 2 sides appear parallel 5 cm apart but with roughly finished edge faces. One end appears regular (though partially fractured) and meets sides at right angles. This has a rounded camfered edge profile. Other end fractured

Context: CH06SR_896
- Loose dark brown soil with small stones. The extent was approximately 1.3 M (NW-SE) X 1.2 M (NE-SW). Context has several smithing hearths recovered and there was a lense of black ashy soil (not more than 3-4 cm in depth) of the same consistency of the dark brown soil.
