Description

  • Situation at the bottom of SE part of room 38

Linked Contexts

  • Context: CH06SR_820
    • Layer of 4 stone slabs and one tile that cover the drain-like cut in the bedrock (context at the bottom of Cut 874) at the bottom of Cut 728 in the S part of Room 38. The stones were generally flat, and had some amount of black bacterial remains on their underside. One stone was a fragment of a grindstone and one may have been taken from some previous architectural usage.
  • Context: CH06SR_821
    • Layer of brown mud/soil between and underneath the stone and tile slabs around cut 874 in the bottom of the S part of the room. The brown soil is packed around the stones, but also underneath the clay (geological) layer in the cut. This layer produced only a very little bit of ceramic and bone, though much of it was taken for paleobotanical examination.
  • Context: CH06SR_857
    • Small area of compact, dark brown, damp soil in the northern corner of cut 728, above the stone slabs that cover the drain feature. When the drain area was exposed by removing the slabs, this layer was visible around its cut.
