Description
- CH04SR0343
- pit/disturbance in room 29 (center)
- dimensions about 1.25x1.75m, roughly oval and approximately 25cm deep - located in the middle of room. FROM CONTEXT FORM: "a pit in the middle of room 29; roughly oval shape; sloping sides; 1.3 X 1.9 meters; 0.3 meters in depth. The pit cuts down to the top of SR 348"
- may also cut SR339. This feature may also have been present in upper levels but wasn’t noticed during the excavation.
Interpretation
-
- It seems likely that this feature was created by root disturbance due to a large bush/tree.

-
- July 11, 2005: review of records in light of current excavation results suggests that pit cut upper levels of collapse but was not immediately noticed at time of excavation; almost certainly present just under topsoil, and relationships changed to reflect that conclusion (see also original notes below)
