  • Highly square area of very clean soft dark brown soil with very few inclusions of any kind ( a few pieces of pottery, a few small rocks ) ; sandy moist consistency.
  • Like 342, this soil was recognized at an arbitrary level, and it is possible that it extended above and was overcut.

      • ATR
    • July 11, 2005: review of records and results of current excavation suggest that this fill was located just under topsoil and was not recognized during excavation of 339; relationships above have been amended to reflect that conclusion (see also original notes below)
