Description
- CH04SR0360
- fill of infant burial cut in room 28
- Dark gray-brown soil fairly loose and soft with small clumps, containing inclusions of bedrock chips, charcoal, a few small stones and very little ceramic material; forms the matrix for the skeleton of a fetus or neonate. Probably covered by SR352, which was slightly overcut in this area
- 352 may have been over excavated in this area but it is possible that is was not present and the fill was covered by 340 - in that case , very shallow; 352 is at a higher level along the wall where remnants were last mapped as part of 352 surface map.
Interpretation
-
- Fil of shallow grave for fetus or neonate; shallow enough that pieces of the skull were found around the grave itself
