Description
- CH05SR0658
- Stoop in room 33
- Stone construction in doorway, a stoop/step. Three stones across laid in a discrete orientation, laid flat on tiles in obvious leveling action.
- Packing fill beneath wall contruction removed as same context. No stratigraphic breaks between stones and bedrock.
Interpretation
-
- Stoop or step as part of construction built into the doorway, possibly in association with the narrowing of the door, as the step fits the width of the final doorway. Tiles lain flat below the rock construction as part of an obvious leveling action, probably associated with the contruction of 657, which had packing of stones-Does not seem to be covered by 519. Follows width of narrowed door, but probably built at or durring time of 519's deposition

- Given the nature of the ceramic evidence for the associated layer, it may in fact be more likely that this structure was associated with the upper elevations of the walls of the bedrock-cut structure
