  • Possible wall structure (by wall 281) in SW part of room 33
  • 80 cm long, 35 cm high, 30 cm wide cluster of stones intermixed with brown soil. Area of compact brown fill, with rocks and tile, hard consistency, linear orietation (per ATR).
  • Probably the same fill as that of context 714 (filled with 654), or same fill as 519.

Interpretation

    • No discrete orientation (either of rows or courses), possible packing for [dark-age] walls. More likely, it is a packing fill for the building of wall 281 (W wall of Room 33) which dropped due either a drop in the bedrock or a cut which continues into 36. Probably is the same as the material from the filling of cut 714, which is filled by 654 and probably the same as 519..

    • This packing produced ceramic evidence that suggests a date in the 10th-11th c., although the evidence was too sparse for certain conclusions. The coin has been identified as a locally minted rho-omega coin of the time of Romanus III (1028-1034).
