  • Fill of pit in N corner of room 37 behind the wall
  • Fill of a circular pit located between wall 607 and the NW section of our trench. Soft brown soil with inclusions of clay, small stones; 60 cm in diameter. Half of the pit is under the wall of excavation trench and so was not excavated.

Interpretation

    • Fill of cut for pithos made to level the surface.

    • These cuts seem to have been made before the construction of wall 607, and perhaps filled in in conjunction with it -- therefore at some point between the public use of the slab area (3rd AD) and the early Byzantine use (6-7th AD)
