  • The wall on solid bedding layer upon slabs/bedrock in SE side of room 37; direction : NE-SW; dry stone wall with two faces, with only one to one-and-a-half courses preserved, in which are large but irregular stones; length - 215 cm; 56 cm in wide; height -22-27 cm.; this wall was covered both by soil and by the much later wall 495; in 2006, this wall was found to abut another wall running on a perpendicular line to the NW (see context sheet for 2006 for details)

Interpretation

    • Early Byzantine wall constructed after the stone paving had gone out of use as a public space; may have been built with 607 to create the enclosed space in which the stove was found
