  • Fill of semicircular cut in bedrock in S corner of room 38
  • This layer fills cut 729 in the S corner of the room, at the cut's S end. It measures 70cm in length (of the greater cut that is 119cm) and it, at its widest point, 49cm wide, and at its narrowest, 36cm. It is teardrop-shaped as a result of the cut into the bedrock, and later wall built atop of it. The soil is medium brown and rather compact, including a fair amount of debris.
  • This is definitely a separate layer but its separation from 781 is less clear. It appears that these are similar if not the same, just squeezed into a small space in the bedrock. Coin 3506 is a very clear issue of Diocletian of 284-85, struck at Rome, antoninian denomination -- but it has been confused between 780 and 781 (not mapped; register says 780, bag says 781).
