Description
- CH06SR0942
- Possible foundation trench for early wall near cistern in courtyard
- this number was originally stricken, but seems to have referred to a linear cut or depression in bedrock along the wall between complex 1 and the courtyard, in which mudbrick and mortared stone were located -- roughly rectangular, gently angled sides, rounded bottom surface, ca. 1.08m x .30m, lip left on NE side between this and cut in center of courtyard, but seems to cut through lip of cut 928
- context was entered into register by ATR 6/25/07 with date of end of season (to avoid date confusion in program)

Interpretation
-
- Foundation trench for early wall, contemporary either with rock-cut industrial facilities or with 10th-c occupation -- could also be natural depression or other feature, since oddly limited on both short ends, although seems to continue slightly through lip of adjacent pit (from photos)
