  • Rocky layer with brown soil matrix, NW of cistern, Area 3 Courtyard
  • The dimensions and definitions [=orientations?] are ca. 4m (NW-SE) x 80cm (NE-SW); the layer had the appearance of a pile of small to small/medium stones in a medium brown soil on both sides of the early wall perpendicular to wall 296; more stones than earth matrix in this deposit; differs from 933 in soil component, from 932 in density of packed rocks (932 is denser) (but seems to cover both)
  • Runs along wall 0296. [Is this layer/context related to/same/similar to 933? -- SM]

Interpretation

    • This layer was very similar to 933, and borders were unclear; seems to represent the destruction/fill of an earlier structure along the wall of complex 1 (supported by ceramics, which include some middle Byzantine -- but not clear if wall itself from that date)
