  • Cut for foundation trench for wall 296
  • Irregular cut running along wall 296 between the fill of robbing trench 841 and the unexcavated area over the cistern in the courtyard; ca 45 cm wide, 10-20cm deep (deeper to SE end) - cut was so shallow and irregular that fill of (860) originally identified as a layer without a cut, but in particular a clear cut through tile deposit 915 suggests that this is a cut with 886 as its fill.
  • This layer may be connected with the cut in bedrock below, or the cut in bedrock just to the S of robber trench 841 - but not clear at time of excavation.
  • Amphora is fill suggest 12th c.
