Interpretation

    • Layer with traces of burning.

    • The destruction layer of this room, produced by an intense fire that consumed the beams of the roof and perhaps other wooden structures in the room (shelves, etc); the ceramic evidence confirms a 13th-c. date
      • ATR
    • Review of the records for this layer suggests that it was composed of the lower layer of burned roof collapse and the upper layer of the burned contents of the room. The lack of physical, stratigraphic distinction between these elements at the time of excavation can be related to their roughly simultaneous formation during the destruction of the room.
