  • CH04SR0349
  • loose gray/green rubble with bone in room 28 over SR340
  • located in bottom of depression in SR340 along the NW side of the room: roughly oval area of small stones, large quantities of animal bone
  • originally thought to be a separte layer from SR340 but turned out to be equal to it, underexcavated and appears in photos as if separate layer.

Interpretation

    • SR340's slope due to bedrock trough created depression in center of room, in which was a concentration of stones, tile, and bone taken to be a dump or the fill of a shallow pit; later this fill was determined to be the same soil, just with larger inclusions, and therefore the same deposit
      • SW
    • July 13, 2005: this layer is likely to represent the gradual erosion of the larger components of the upper part of 340 down the slope covering the rock-cut basin
