  • Layer of hard compacted earth-clay surface. Dark gray inclusions of white mortar. Inclusions of carbonized wood. Layer of tile -articulated vessels in SE of room (given contex SR356). Inclusion of seaweed.
  • Very compact, appears to be fairly well preserved floor of room

Interpretation

    • Floor of room 32.
      • CS
    • July 21, 2005: although this does seem to be the last-phase floor of the room, there is also the possibility that it represents a phase of abandonment; the metalworking samples taken in 2004 were studied this year and produced very little evidence of anything but residual material, unlike the samples from layer 460 below; rock along NE wall that was originally interpreted as anvil seems to be nothing more than perhaps an expedient seat
