Description
- CH05SR0518
- Hearth feature in S corner of room 33
- Loose ashy 40 x 50 cm fill consisting of fine-silt-loam with a high density of charcoal and ash containing ceramics, tile, bone, and metallurgical debris. Potentiall the fill of a cut but excavation circumstances prevented cut from being identified. Instead recorded as a lens
- Potential interfaces removed inadvertently, soil loosened through floral turbation further obscuring possible interfaces. Larger than 500g sample taken to compensate for lack of depositional/contextual information. Attempted to discern limits of feature, beyond tracing extent of ash patch no discrete limits or interfaces were visible.
- Coin, ceramics
