Description
- CH05SR0567
- Rough stone construction in SE section of room 33 parallel to wall 298
- Rough stone construction, possibly an earlier wall in the S. E. corner of room 33. Walling stones in irregular pile leaning against bedrock drop-off in 33, intermixed with bone, ceramics, and plaster fragments.
- Feature cleaned and removed, by layer, no discrete orientation discerned. Clarification per ATR. Top course looks to preferentially oriented, as such by chance it looks like the course of a wall. Lower layers were not coursed, the feature, was filled with voids, and the stones were not aligned vertically or horisontally, save the top row.

Interpretation
-
- Intially thought to possibly be a wall or packing material for a wall of a dark-age house. Ceramics indicated that the material is 13th century, and as such must be considered equivalent to the filling episode of 519.

-
- Ceramic discussion above needs to be revised: AS's summary table cautiously suggests a date in the 10th or 11th c. (4 fr. GWW II). Consequently, it is possible that the initial interpretation was correct and the feature should be taken in conjunction with the original use of the bedrock cut. Numismatic evidence limited to coin of Leo I (457-474)
