- CH06SR0755
- Loose ashy dark brown soil in NW courtyard
- Loose ashy dark brown soil in NW courtyard w/ some yellow clay inclusions. Dimensions are approximately 60 cm NE/SW and 110 cm NW/SE and approximately 2-3 cm in depth
- We originally thought this layer extended across the balk, but later determined the other side to be a separate context (759). Two nails recovered (and slag?). Maybe associated with context 0805. Did not extend into Area 2 [at least we did not locate it].
Interpretation
-
- Possibly a layer associated with metalworking activities, but its extent is small and little industrial debris was in association.
